STEP 1: Register for our ERA Real Estate Career Opportunity Seminar

STEP 2: Register for the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Course

All new entrants have to take a compulsory RES exam preparatory course before taking the examinations.

Do note that attending the course and passing the examinations do not automatically qualify an individual to be a real estate salesperson. A new entrant who wishes to become a real estate salesperson (RES) must satisfy the full registration criteria at the time of application. Please check the prevailing registration criteria which can be found at CEA’s website.

Only courses provided by CEA Approved Course Providers (ACPs) are recognised for licensing / registration purposes.

  1. RES Course Requirement
    • Applicants must meet the educational qualification of at least 4 GCE “O” Level passes or equivalent.
    • For applicants with overseas qualifications or private diplomas, submit them through the ACP you intend to enrol at for the RES course to CEA for assessment if they meet the educational qualification requirement. An administrative fee is payable.
    • Applicants who have attained Level 5 and above for the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) assessment in these 5 components (Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing and Numeracy) will be recognised to have met the educational qualification requirement of at least 4 GCE “O” level passes.

  1. RES Course Fees

$834.60 (inclusive of GST).
12 months instalment available for DBS/POSB Visa and Mastercard Card holders.

  1. Course Fees Subsidies
    • Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP):
      • The RES course is eligible for UTAP funding. UTAP claims will only be available after completion of the course; submit the course completion certificate and the receipt to NTUC to make the claims.
    •  
    • SkillsFuture:
      • Singaporeans may use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset the RES course fee.

STEP 3: Register for the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Examination

The RES Examination is mandatory for all new entrants who wish to practice as real estate salespersons.

Candidates will be issued a Certificate of RES Course Completion by their CEA Approved Course Provider (ACP) provided they have an attendance rate of at least 75%. To register for the RES Examination, candidates must submit a copy of their Certificate of RES Course Completion.

Candidates have to pass the RES Examination within 2 years from the date of issuance of the RES course completion certificate.

  1. RES Examination Format

There are 2 papers for the exam.
Duration : 2 ½ hours per paper.

The format of both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is as follows:

    • Section A : 60 MCQs (60 marks)
    • Section B : 20 MCQs with reference to 1 or 2 Case Studies (40 marks)
  1. Modular Sitting

Candidates who have passed one paper of the RES examination are allowed to retake the examination in modular sitting and they are required to pass the remaining paper within the 2-year timeframe.

Should they fail to do so, the modular pass in one paper will not be valid and they will have to re-take the RES course before attempting the RES examination (both Paper 1 and Paper 2) again.

  1. Examination Fees
    • Full Sitting (2 Papers): $512.30 (inclusive of GST)
    • Modular Re-sitting (1 Paper): $283.40 (inclusive of GST)

STEP 4: Apply for the Salesperson Registration at ERA

Candidates who have taken the RES examination will receive an email notification from CEA’s appointed examination administrator informing them of their examination results 4 – 6 weeks after the examination.

CONGRATULATIONS on PASSING the RES examinations! You are now ready to register to be a RES salesperson!

ERA has a NEW RES INCENTIVE PACKAGE to help you with the costs:

  1. CEA Registration Fee

CEA RES Registration + CEA Admin Fee till end December 2025= $445.00, NOW: $0!

  1. ERA Business & Training Support

Professional indemnity, tech tools (ERA Sales+, ERA Pro etc), conference fees, ID Tag Kit, AccelERAtion Program, training vouchers, merchandise vouchers etc. = $1,437.00, NOW: $0!

  1. Marketing & Branding Incentives

Reimbursement worth $300 upon completion of ERA Induction, AccelERAtion, Project Expert and Sales+ training within 9 months of join date (CEA Public Register)!

These are the requirements for registration with ERA:

  1. NRIC (front & back).
  2. Certificate of your highest academic qualification.
  3. RES examination certificate OR email notification of passing the RES examinations.
  4. Soft copy of corporate photo.
  5. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) from your embassy for SPRs for whom the Date of Issue on their NRIC is less than 10 years ago.
  6. ERA AccelERAtion APAC course fee.

CEA will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks to approve an application from the date of receiving the application and all the required documents.

Success is not by chance, but by design. At this point, it’s important to start planning your success blueprint together with your mentor.

Once you are notified by ERA that your application has been approved by CEA, you can commence practice as a real estate salesperson immediately!
